Am I eligible?

There are a few criteria you need to meet to be eligible for the program:

  • You must have completed a minimum of a bachelor's degree.
  • You must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or hold permanent residency at the time of application.



What is the recruitment process?

It's a simple process for candidates...

  • Assessment Centre in May (held at our Melbourne office)

Online Application

  • We'll ask for some personal details, your CV and for you to answer a few simple questions.

Psychometric Testing

  • We'll invite you to complete a 30 minute psychometric test.

Video Interview

  • You will need to submit a short video interview.
  • Get creative in showcasing your talent and passion for retail!

 Assessment Centre

  • Be yourself!
  • You will need to prepare for a short case study.
  • Be prepared to have discussions and talk in front of small groups - if you get nervous, practice!
  • The 'meet and greet' session is for candidates who are successful through the first half of the assessment centre.
    • This is an informal discussion between representatives from across the business and YOU!
    • It is a two-way conversation, not a formal interview.
    • We'll spend 30 minutes getting to know you and you can get to know us!
  • It's not about 'winning', so focus on teamwork.
  • It's not how much you say, it's what you say that counts.

Do I get financial assistance from Coles for my relocation if I complete the program outside my home state?

Although we do not provide financial assistance for your relocation, we’ll definitely be able to connect you with other graduates who have relocated for their hints and tips!


What is a generalist program?

In most companies, Graduates rotate through different teams in the one function but at Coles we do things a little bit differently.

Our generalist program structure means that you can either work in the one function over the two years or  complete one year in one function and have the opportunity to move to another function in your next year. We’ve had Graduates complete cross functional moves from Finance to Digital and HR to Buying & Trading.

So if you’re not sure what function you’re passionate about, a generalist program at Coles is right for you!


What happens at the end of the 2 year Graduate program?

At the end of your 2 year Graduate program you will have an opportunity to apply for roles within the business and continue your career at Coles.
