Helping Hummingbird House support families in Queensland

Hummingbird House campaign25 November 2016

Thank you to all Queensland team members and customers who supported the Hummingbird House campaign.

Our top fundraising store, Aspley raised and donated more than $25,000 – in just four weeks! Second was the team at Maroochydore with more than $10,700 and Mt Isa raising more than $10,500.

All funds raised during the campaign will help Hummingbird House, Queensland's only children's hospice, and will help support a range of activities from musical therapy and aquatic physiotherapy sessions to travel costs for regional families accessing the hospice.

Hummingbird House Co-Founder, Paul Quilliam said "we are deeply grateful to have Coles continue to partner with us across Queensland."

"The support and engagement from Coles team members and customers across the state is overwhelming. All have generously given to deliver lasting impact for Queensland children and their families who need Hummingbird House."

Our Coles Queensland State General Manager Paul Bradshaw thanked customers for their generosity and support for Hummingbird House.

"This vital service will make such a difference to so many families during an emotional and challenging time in their lives," he said.

"The local community has shown a particularly compassionate response to the fundraising campaign and we are incredibly thankful to our customers and our store teams for helping to make Hummingbird House a reality.

"We are also thrilled to offer additional support to the hospice during its first year, with a donation of $1000 each week to fund supplies for the Hummingbird House kitchen."

The 2016 campaign builds on the success of the fundraising efforts from the past two years, which has now seen Coles Queensland contribute almost $800,000 to Hummingbird House.
